Energy Savings!
We already incorporate many energy saving technologies into our homes but...
products alone do NOT make a building qualify for LEED rating nor does LEED certify materials alone. Beware of any materials claiming LEED certification! We call that 'Greenwashing' - which is false or exagerated claims. The LEED standard is based upon a holistic approach.
To qualify for a LEED rating, the whole building package is considered as a unit. The combined elements and parts are considered as relating to the entire building. This includes reusable energy factors, the amount of waste leaving a project and even volatile organic compounds of materials...What? (Call us, we'll explain.)
Structure layout or positioning to the sun, shade or other environmental factors, building design, roof types and materials, window types and materials, siding types and materials, insulation types and materials, passive and or active solar, heating and cooling equipment efficiencies, heat gain or loss from appliances...etc, etc until every factor of the building is considered.
