Dear Joe,

We wanted to write to you and let you know how fortunate and happy we feel for purchasing a home built by Bechtold Development Company / BDC Homes. The experience has been very positive right from the start.

My wife and I visited many new homes during the (long time) we were out looking and saw quite a range of quality between the different builders. Many of the homes that we felt would suit our need for growth seemed overpriced and in some of them the quality level just wasn't there.

After visiting a home that BDC built, we immediately loved it!  However, the quality of construction and attention to detail that we saw throughout the house lead us to believe that it would be out of our price range.  We were so surprised and just couldn't believe it when the real estate agent told us the price!


We noticed details throughout the home that told us BDC had gone above the call of duty. The trim work is just excellent, the doors are solid and well fitted, the fixtures throughout the home are very tasteful and of the highest of quality, as are the windows, the cabinets, the appliances, etc.. etc., etc!

Another thing that we really appreciated about Bechtold Development Company is the caring, personal touch that came along with the home. Joe, as the owner of the company, you have always been accessible and friendly throughout the entire process.

You were always there willing to discuss any concern or answer any questions. Joe your company builds great homes.  Your eagerness to be supportive of your customers demonstrates the pride you and your subcontractors take in your work.

Thanks again Joe!  I just wanted to take the time to let you really know how really happy my wife and I are with the home you built. We wish your company many years of continued success in building quality homes.

Dear Joe,

We just wanted to write and tell you how much we appreciate all that you have done while building our new home!   We never thought it possible to live in the neighborhood we love in a newly built home that we could afford, but BDC Homes made it happen.  Not only did you stick to our budget, but you completed the project on time too!   You were never more than a phone call away and your response time to questions and requests has been phenomenal. 

You always went our of your way to assist us and get us what we wanted for our home.  As never having built a home before, you never made us feel stupid for asking all those silly questions new home owners ask and you were extremely patient and helpful in guiding and helping us make choices/decisions.  

The contractors that you used were superb.  They were always friendly, helpful, courteous and did really good work.  You managed them well.   

It was truly a pleasure working with you,  I would highly recommend BDC for anyone looking to build a custom home in the Western Suburbs!

Dear Joe,

Ken and I wanted to formally say thank you for the excellant job you did for us while building our home. 

When construction first started we were told by friends that contractors sometimes submit charges for all sorts of extra's once construction is underway.  That never happened with BDC.  The only extra charges were for the changes we made ourselves.  Much to our delight, you maintained the highest level of integrity throughout the entire project and stuck to the budget.  You are indeed a person of good character.

Your subcontractors were all superb and you really managed them well.  The trim carpenters were very high quality and our home was finished right when you said it would be, on time and on budget.  We just had to tell you again how happy we are with our new home!

We interviewed several general contractors who were anxious to build our 3400 square foot home and know that we made the right decision in choosing Bechtold Development Company.  We gladly provide our recommendation for your company to everyone!

 Re:    Gilbane Building Company & Joe Bechtold

                             

I had the pleasure of working with Gilbane Building Company and specifically Joe Bechtold who was the Project Manager on a project in one of our buildings.  The project consisted of changing out and upgrading an entire fire alarm system in a 10 story (critical nature) central switching station.  The alarm project totaled just over $750,000.00. 

It was absolutely critical that our operations were not affected even in the slightest way during construction.  Joe saw to it that we ran smoothly without incident by managing every detail.  

Having never worked with Joe before, one of the lasting impressions of him was that he is a down to earth honest and professional person and I would not hesitate to work with him again.  I hold Joe in high regard both professionally and personally and wholeheartedly recommend him as a valuable asset to any Construction Management team.

Re:    Joe Bechtold, Gilbane Building Company

As an electrical subcontractor, we recently completed two of (SBC) telecommunications projects with Joe Bechtold as the Project Manager.  Our electrical contracts for those two projects totaled just over $2M.

Joe was consistantly honest and fair in all things.  This type of subcontractor treatment is not always the case with some of the project managers we've worked with over the years.  We knew we could always rely on Joe to be straightforward with us. 

It's too bad (for us) that Joe is leaving the commercial construction arena and returning to the residential arena to build custom homes.  We would enjoy the opportunity to work with him again!  Good luck on all your endeavors Joe!
